St. Louis, here we come!

Acting on a bid from the Post-Dispatch, the executive committee, as its June 23 meeting in Philadelphia, unanimously awarded the 2007 convention to St. Louis. APSE will be making its second convention visit to the Mound City, the Post-Dispatch having hosted us in 1988.

The dates will be June 20-23 with the Renaissance Grand Hotel serving as the host hotel. The daily room rate for the downtown, 23-story, 918-room facility, a Marriott property, will be $135.

Post-Dispatch assistant managing editor/sports Larry Starks made the presentation to the executive committee, pledging the paper's $20,000 financial assistance, as well as logistical support.

The St. Louis convention, which will be APSE's 34th, will follow visits next year to Orlando (June 22-25 at the JW Marriott's Grande Lakes Resort; room rate $159) and to Las Vegas in 2006 (June 21-24 at the MGM Grand Hotel; room rate $134).
