Larry Vaught: One of the more moving moments of my involvement with APSE came during our dinner for the small newspaper sports editors during the recent judging. Garry D. Howard: A motion to change the basic structure of the APSE Judging Contest on Wednesday by reorganizing the circulation categories was not passed at the Closing Meeting of the 2008 Convention. (Feb. 29)
Garry D. Howard: The Kansas City Star, under the guidance of Mike Fannin, managing editor/features and sports, and Holly Lawton, the paper's AME/Sports, did the unthinkable: They left Orlando with an extra suitcase loaded with an unprecedented 12 – yes, count 'em – 12 APSE awards. (Feb. 28)
