Day 1: Feb. 10

• Opening ceremonies.

Day 2: Feb. 11

• Figure skating: Pairs short program.

• Speedskating (long-track): Men's 5,000-meter final.

Day 3: Feb. 12

• Alpine skiing: First of the "glamour events" of the Games: the men's downhill.

• Snowboard: Men's halfpipe final; U.S. swept the medals in this event in 2002, led by Ross Powers with gold.

• Speedskating (short-track): Men's 1,500-meter final; American Apolo Anton Ohno won gold in 2002.

Day 4: Feb. 13

• Figure skating: Pairs free skate. Would be hard to top the controversial drama of this event in 2002, which had two gold medals awarded after the smoke cleared.

• Speedskating (long-track): The fastest race on the oval: the men's 500-meter final; Americans won gold and bronze in 2002.

Day 5: Feb. 14

• Alpine skiing: Men's combined event (that's downhill and slalom together). American Bode Miller won one of his two silvers in 2002 in this event.

Day 6: Feb. 15

• Alpine skiing: Women's downhill.

Day 7: Feb. 16

• Figure skating: Men's free skate; American Tim Goebel took bronze in 2002, but last U.S. winner was Brian Boitano in 1988.

Day 8: Feb. 17

• Ice hockey: Women's semifinals.

• Snowboard: Women's final in snowboardcross, which debuts in these Olympics.

Day 9: Feb. 18

• Alpine skiing: Men's super-G.

Day 10: Feb. 19

• Alpine skiing: Women's super-G.

• Bobsled: Men's two-man final.

Day 11: Feb. 20

• Alpine skiing: Men's giant slalom; American Bode Miller won one of his two silvers in 2002 in this event.

• Ice hockey: Women's gold- and bronze-medal games; U.S. took silver in 2002.

Day 12: Feb. 21

• Figure skating: Women's short program.

Day 13: Feb. 22

• Ice hockey: Men's quarterfinals.

Day 14: Feb. 23

• Figure skating: Women's free skate; Americans won gold (Sarah Hughes) and bronze (Michelle Kwan) in 2002.

• Speedskating (long-track): Men's 10,000-meter final, the most grueling event on the oval.

Day 16: Feb. 25

• Ice hockey: men's bronze-medal game.

Day 17: Feb. 26

• Ice hockey: Men's gold-medal game; U.S. lost to Canada in 2002.
