APSE | ELECTION

Second VP election is underway

Five candidates are running for APSE's second vice president position, and balloting is now underway.

CANDIDATE BIOS
Mike Fannin
Fred M. Faour
Jim Jenks
Larry Starks
James Walker

A reminder that voting is by newspaper and not individual members. Each dues-paying newspaper gets one vote and that vote usually is cast by the person who runs the sports department.

The candidate with the most votes in the election will win and take office after the June convention. You may vote by e-mail or by cutting out and mailing the ballot on this page or by sending a letter on company stationary.

How to vote

E-mail: If you want to cast your vote via e-mail, send a message to Ed Storin, APSE's secretary-treasurer, with your choice. Be sure that you identify yourself and your newspaper; return e-mail addresses are not always sufficient for this. Storin's e-mail address is storapse@aol.com.

Letter: If you don't have access or don't want to use e-mail, send a letter with your choices to Storin at P.O. Box 7227, Hilton Head, SC 29938. You must sign the letter and identify your newspaper. You may make a copy of the list of candidates and mark your choices, but you still must identify yourself in an attached letter.

If the origin of a ballot can't be identified, it will be disqualified.

If more than one ballot is sent by one newspaper, that paper's vote will be forfeited.

Complete the ballot

The deadline to get your vote to Storin, e-mail or letter, is June 1. It must be in Storin's hands by that date, not postmarked.

The second vice president's main duty is to be the editor of the APSE Newsletter, with an additional duty as assistant to the first vice president in running the contest.

Second and first vice presidents move up one office each year, so the winner of this election is scheduled to be president in APSE's 2007-08 year.

Vacancies in any office are filled via appointment by the APSE president. The results of the election will be announced at the convention in Orlando.
